Has it been 25 years?
The Padres on Tuesday honored the pennant-winning 1998 team in a touching pre-game ceremony.
You can watch the full video here.
The players' appreciation for each other was on full display. These guys truly enjoyed playing together. And the “Hell's Bells” entrance for Hall of Fame reliever Trevor Hoffman ... goosebumps.
As with any celebration of the Padres' most recent World Series team, there's the somber reminder of who isn't here anymore, including Ken Caminiti, Tony Gwynn and Kevin Towers. Relatives of those three giants (including Caminiti's daughter Kendall) were on hand to honor three of the 1998 team's biggest contributors.
It's always special to celebrate the 1998 Padres, and there's no better place to do so than Petco Park. Without their success, the ballpark might not exist.
