Hello!

Hello and welcome to my Substack.

I've set it up ahead of the publication of my biography about baseball player Ken Caminiti, "Playing Through the Pain," which is scheduled for release in May 2022.

You'll notice the logo for the page is a play off of a Snickers candy bar wrapper -- famously, Ken battled through food poisoning during his 1996 season by receiving two liters of IV fluid and eating a Snickers bar, then going out and hitting two home runs on his way to becoming the National League's most valuable player.

I plan to publish updates and background information about the book here, as well as write about other topics. Like baseball cards. Or sports. Or books. Or video games. Or life.

For a little background on me: I'm a journalist and book writer who lives outside of New York City with my wife (hi @yanxchick) and our 5-year-old son. I've worked at a number of outlets, such as the New York Post, New York Daily News, ABC News, and NBC News.

I'm a native of central Pennsylvania and a Texas Rangers fan.
