I was bound to get something wrong over 130,000 words.

Normally in a newspaper article you make the change online and add an editor's note, and you can run a correction in the next day's paper. Updating a typo in a book isn't quite so easy.

In the interest of full disclosure, I wanted to flag the typos that have been discovered from my book Playing Through the Pain: Ken Caminiti and the Steroids Confession That Changed Baseball Forever. Thanks to readers who were paying attention!

Spelling inconsistency

Padres trainer Todd Hutcheson's name is spelled incorrectly in two spots (pages 171 and 186).

Misidentified

One of Ken's San Jose State teammates was misidentified. Tom Krause was a speedy infielder who played minor league ball in the Mariners system (page 37).

Wrong position

Eric Karros played first base for the Dodgers (page 195).

Stupid mistake

Ken’s wife Nancy grew up in Los Gatos (page 18).

Apologies for these lapses. Let me know if you see any other mistakes!
